London, U.K- Last night, celebrities who could make it to London gathered in glamorous South Kensington to celebrate each other at the annual British Fashion Awards and eat carrots, as meat was off the menu this year.
Just like all trends, fashion’s latest fad in addressing the lack of diversity in the industry is finally making its way across the pond as Europe seems to be hopping on the inclusion boat.
Case in point: instead of simply awarding Rihanna Brand of the Year for Fenty’s success, British Fashion Council made the touching gesture of creating a whole new “Urban Luxe” category to honor her- an honor that went to Virgil Abloh last year for his not regular but urban designs.
While Rihanna’s urban award presented by the urban Janet Jackson made all the headlines, we’d like to take a moment and congratulate creative director Daniel Lee who took home not one but four monotonous, non-urban awards (Accessories Designer of the Year, British Designer of the Year Womenswear, Brand of the Year, and Designer of the Year) to honor his non-urban work at Bottega Veneta.
Here are some other things that also happened last night;
Donatella Versace revealed that she was not Kim Jones

Anna Wintour, once again, reminded us all that we should still be thinking of Karl Lagerfeld

Bang-bang, boom-boom, pop-pop

And these guys, probably invited for the same reasons Tom Cruise was
