Comme des Garçons Men’s Fashion Week

Just when men’s fashion month felt tame, Comme des Garçons' Fashion Week slot saved the day by styling poorly braided cornrow wigs on white models. Phew, that was close!

The wigs attached with the best glue Staples has to offer embodied the tone of the show which was giving out the powerful message of, “We don’t really care if Twitter is mad at us and we won’t lose any sleep or money over this because our customers also could not care less.”

As one of fashion’s most influential labels, you’d think someone on the Comme des Garçons production team would’ve flagged this obvious misstep. So, we’re left to assume it was either a deliberate move to outshine Valentino’s SS 2016 or just plain laziness—too much hassle to rethink the entire collection over a minor case of cultural appropriation.
