Sustainable fashion brand Indoor Voices is taking an innovative step to cut down the environmental footprint of garment manufacturing by going digital for a full month. Customers can purchase designs online and receive personalized illustrated photos of themselves “wearing” the pieces within 24 hours.
Customers will be able to purchase designs online, and the brand team will send an email with an illustrated photo of them wearing the garment within 24 hours. “The challenge is to prove it is possible to showcase clothes without wearing them,” explained a spokesperson for the brand. “These days, consumers are more interested in flexing their outfits on social media than in wearing them in real life, so this will be a time-saving practice on both ends.”
Revealing that there will be no increase in the salaries of the creative team, who will be working hard to fulfill all requests, the brand plans to donate all profits to support the mental health of longtime collaborator and artist Jaquelin Bodos, who has been suffering from severe anxiety directly attributed to climate change.
